The Geraldton Airport is owned and operated by the City of Greater Geraldton and is situated approximately 10km east of Geraldton on the Geraldton-Mt Magnet Road.
In addition to daily flight services to Perth, Geraldton Airport also caters for General Aviation Charter flights, Royal Flying Doctor Services, RAAF deployments, and fly in fly out mining services to Regional Western Australia.
Historically a first for Australian Aviation, the first Commercial Air Service in Australia, West Australian Airways Ltd operated by the late Sir Norman Brearley, departed Geraldton Airport on 5 December 1921 providing a mail service through to Derby in the North.
Geraldton Airport was also the home of RAAF No. 4 Service Flying Training School between the years of 1941 and 1945.

Nexus Airlines establishes Geraldton Airport base
Since commencing operations from Geraldton to Perth on the 17th July 2023, Nexus Airlines has increased their commitment to Geraldton by taking up a lease and establishing an engineering and crewing base at Geraldton Airport. Engineers now have access to both equipment and parts storage along with an administration office. Air crew have administration and training space complemented by kitchen and storage areas. Never before has an airline servicing both the Geraldton-Perth route and Geraldton-Karratha-Port Hedland- Broome route made such a strong commitment to the Geraldton Community by establishing a base in Geraldton. This means the people of Nexus are part of the Geraldton community with cabin crew, engineers and pilots both belonging and contributing to the local economy and belonging here. Nexus also uses ground handlers, caterers and aircraft cleaners who are all part of the local fabric that makes Geraldton a great place to work and live.
