Airport Access Requests and Renewals

Under the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Manual of Standards Part 139 and the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005, access to secure areas of Australian airports is strictly controlled. Personnel requiring regular entry to airside or other secure zones must hold a valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and obtain site-specific access authorisation. At Geraldton Airport, airport access is directly linked to the validity of an individual’s ASIC. When an ASIC expires, so too does the associated airport access. As such, a renewal process is necessary to ensure continued compliance with aviation safety and security regulations. This process includes administrative applications, safety inductions, mandatory training, and in some cases, additional security and drug and alcohol compliance checks.

The steps outlined in this procedure ensure all personnel meet national regulatory requirements and uphold airport operational safety and security standards.
